The first thing to remember about a slipcover is that it will never look like it does in the picture. If you set your expectations around the fact that you are purchasing a slipcover and not reupholstering your furniture then you will likely be very satisfied with this purchase. I've tried different slipcovers and this one is definitely a cut above.
Only criticisms are that the Ivory color is pretty but it is also fairly thin. My sofa is light colored so it wasn't a problem for me but I imagine if you are covering a darker sofa you might be able to see a tint through it. It would be great if Maytex had a broader selection of colors. Secondly, it was really difficult to get on. My sofa is on the larger side so perhaps someone covering a smaller one wouldn't have as much difficulty getting it on as I did. Once it was on I couldn't imagine ever taking it back off to wash it and of course with the light color that could be a real problem. What I ended up doing that I'm very pleased with is putting a slipcover on my slipcover... I know that sounds crazy. I had purchased a set from Target as well to see which I liked better and so threw one over the Maytex cover to see what it was like. It worked great! The Maytex cover holds everything tightly in place. It made putting the Room Essentials brand one piece slip cover over it 100 times easier than it would be covering just a couch. Also since slipcovers tend to bunch up, when the RE cover does the Maytex is underneath. They are the same color so you can't tell. And the RE one is very easy to get on and off thanks to the Maytex cover so it will be easy to throw in the washing machine when needed. All together I probably sent around $300 - $350 for two sofa and two loveseat covers. It's cheaper than buying new furniture, reupholstering, or buying from Pottery Barn and though it's not perfect (see first sentence in my review) it does look nice and I love my new living room.

I could see my neutral, tan-colored sofa through the ivory fabric so returned the item.

I purchased a different brand of slip cover (sure-fit) that I had to also purchase plastic rods to keep it in place. I was so upset with the purchase, that looked it to the Maytex. I can not believe I wasted 200 bucks! I have had them on my couches for 1 month or more with out any problems. Both my loveseat and couch has large armrest, it was a little tight, but I believe it works great. I also love that it is two pieces. I have even washed one that had a wine stain, it cleaned up great and they were almost wrinkle free. They did not shrink.... I would recommed this!

I totally recommend this item. I have it and would order it again in other colors. The fit was great, not like the "old couch covers" we were use to years ago. Good quality and craftsmanship. Easy to put on, didn't even have to read the directions! I love how it fits the cushions perfectly and they stay in place. Love it!
